JOB DESCRIPTION: Legal Counsel

Report: CLO(Chief Legal Officer)

Location: Shanghai

Responsibilities:

1. work with the Chief Legal Officer to develop enforcement strategies and analyse future actions and how to best protect company’s interests in China.

2. coordinating with legal counsel on ongoing litigations and administrative enforcement cases

3. assist with negotiating contracts with local parties

4. working with the Global Intellectual Property Managers to administer, prosecute and maintain the company’s China registered intellectual property rights

5. liasing with local officials and ministries on legal developments and regulatory issues

6. working with Chief Legal Officer to initiate a project on customs enforcement

7. working on ad hoc China related projects

Qualifications:

1. Law degree and at least two years experience working in private practice or in-house in China

2. Experience with Plant Breeder’s Rights (preferable) and Trade Mark enforcement gained working in private practice or in-house

3. Able to work independently and plan ahead

4. Good communication skills and willingness to work and engage with commercial teams to support any activities requiring input from our business

5. Attention to detail

6. Language: English (fluent), Mandarin (fluent)

7. Able to accept domestic travel
