Short Summary
Mainly
responsible for local IFRS17 technical closing, including but not least
of conducting the reconciliation between different business and finance
systems, preparing and posting necessary adjustments in both business and
finance system and doing rationale checking/analysis for both P&C and
Life local IFRS17 ledger.
Job Summary
Being as a senior accountant, you are responsible
for local P&C and Life IFRS17 technical closing including but not
limited in the reconciliation among different systems, necessary AE adjustments
for both OBS and quarterly movement in testing and production environments,
you will play an important role in local IFRS17
technical closing, to communicate with different stakeholders and departments
effectively and smoothly not only within Beijing Branch but also with Group
Central Team/ Hub Finance. You also need to contribute to various financial
analysis and check the rationale of technical result.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Quarterly Technical Results Production and Coordination
- Oversee the technical accounting aspects
of the financial closing process, including the preparation and review
of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Ensure compliance of technical financial
with relevant accounting standards.
- For Life business,
ensure IFRS 17
SAS system results are properly delivered and booked into all systems in
the end-to-end accounting chain, securing financial review and audit
trails.
- Perform IFRS 17 SAS to Omega interface
reconciliation and coordinate the resolution of any discrepancies.
- Ensure accurate booking of manual
adjustments, via Omega Assistance Entries for quarter closing. Support
Finance & Reporting team for any Top GLs.
- Perform technical result analysis,
ensuring the results are well explained and reasonable.
- Maintain a high-quality control
framework for technical closings with effective documentation for internal and
audit purposes.
- Identify and implement process
improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the closing
process.
- Provide technical accounting guidance
and support to other members of the finance team.
- Stay current with changes in accounting
standards and regulations and assess their impact on the company’s
financial reporting.
- Collaboration with Various Team:
- Work closely with the reserving team to
ensure proper alignment of IFRS 17 components with actuarial
expectations.
- Build strong relationships with the
landing, forecasting, and planning teams to maintain live communication
and alignment of results with expectations.
- Collaborate actively with the Group
Technical Closing team and Finance Solutions to follow IFRS 17 SAS development and act as
the local interlocutor for local SAS development and testing.
- Provide support to various stakeholders
on technical closing matters
- Local Statutory and
Regulatory Production: - Assist in the preparation of regulatory
filings, reports and disclosure.
Required experience &competencies
Experience:
- Proven experience in
technical accounting and financial reporting, preferably within the insurance
industry.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS 17
and related financial regulations.
- At
least 5 year’s financial working experience.
Personal Competencies:
- Keen to learn the new knowledge, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems, particularly MS Office and SAP.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in
Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Professional accounting
qualification like ACCA/CPA is preferred.
